Welcome to Hell Mr Gillespie?

This weekend’s match against local-ish rivals Cheltenham Town is developing into a bit of a spicy affair.

’82er reject Steven Gillespie has claimed he’s dying to get a goal against us (I wonder why) and our *Saviour* El Fruitcake has responded by saying he wont need to give a team-talk on saturday if Gillespie keeps banging on like he has been.

This will surely mean one of two things will happen:

1) He’s now nailed on to score against us
2) Gasheads will respond like Galatasaray fans witnessing a Fenerbahce fan turd on the field at the Ali Sami Yen stadium (Almost)

Personally I think this could be a vital match in our season- and now I’ve put teletext on, I can inform you that Rovers are just 4 points off a playoff place, and have one of the best defences in our division.

Ok- our performances have been far from sparkling- but now with a good run, a good gate on saturday, and a well-supported win against the mouthy Cheltenham will help our cause greatly.

Agogo will miss one league game due to his Celebration-suspension (apparently directed at his own bench) so we’ll have to rely probably on Thorpe and Forrester to do the business up front.

Personally, I’d start with Super-Lewis-Haldane and Jamie F to mix experience with local pride and pace.

According to Mr Swift at the Post, Lily Savage, Gladiators Ready Anderson and The Dog Lescott will be challenging for a start on saturday which should heat up competition for places.

Ryan Clarke should remain in goal, and to be honest, I think even if Miller was fit I’d stick with him- he’s been great considering its his first real run of games since….ever?

El Fruitcake hasn’t suggested he will strengthen the squad this transfer window, despite the hyped rumours of a bid for Prendergast.

Anyway, here’s to a confident Derby performance by Rovers, and although we will probably end up with a draw I would like to think we could sneak a 2-1 victory thanks to goals by Forrester and Stewie Campbell.
The crowd will be about 6650, I wont win the 50-50 and the man of the match will be Ryan Clarke.

Now there is a prediction!!
